State Champs officially launched in 2023, but the idea has been in motion since 2009. From day one, this was never just about opening a coffee shop. It was about building a sports-driven clothing brand that lets people wear their loyalty, identity, and love of the game.

Founded by Ally, a longtime builder in design and product, and Cassy, a retail operations and sales leader, State Champs was created to bring sports culture to life through apparel first. The goal was simple: make merch that feels as personal as the teams you root for and the communities you belong to.

The brand debuted through merch drops, pop-ups, and live events, meeting fans where they already were, and quickly proved there was a demand for something different: elevated, story-driven sports apparel that celebrates sports fandom beyond game day jerseys.

Today, State Champs designs and produces merchandise not only for its own collections, but also for women’s sports organizations and emerging sports brands, including The 99ers and The W Sports Bar. The company has collaborated with NWSL teams, the NCAA Final Four, collegiate athletic programs, and more – bringing thoughtful, culture-forward design to every partnership and collaboration.

Coffee has been part of some of our spaces along the way, but it’s never been the reason we exist. State Champs began as an apparel brand and that’s still our core today – designing what fans wear to show up, connect, and proudly represent the teams and communities they love.
