How The 99ers™ collab came to be

You're probably wondering how did this 99ers™ collection / collaboration come to be?

Let's catch you up on us

State Champs is a woman-owned brand focusing on epic merch drops emphasizing or highlighting a moment, athlete, or special event. State Champs is more than a cup of coffee. More than a t-shirt. It's community. We also have the first of its kind sports coffee shop located in NE Ohio. Visit us if you're in the neighborhood!

This is the part of the story where we thank Michael at Olive & York for the cooleset introduction ever. He knew Foudys was looking for a U.S. collaborator for this collection and we had previously known and worked with Michael to create our "Bring Women's Soccer to Ohio" kits and because Michael is a wonderful human he recommended us when Helen from Foudys reached out for resources to make this collection happen.

Cut to our intro call with Helen and it was as if the stars aligned. Foudys was in the mix as Helen is a close friend of Julie Foudy (yes, that Julie Foudy) and she had reached out to Helen about creating a collection to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this moment. Helen, a fellow footy fan and fan of this team knew this collection had to be done right and properly honor the team.

Throughout this process, we collaborated with the team and made sure the collection was everything they dreamed of. Ally designed the shirts, the hoodie, scarf, the hats, the team logo and stickers with Louise from Foudys designing the poster. The pace at which this collection came together is wild in the best way –  deciding on the best materials for each item to ensure fans had something commemorative but also something they can style in every day wear.

We are proud to honor this pivotal moment in women’s sports with a special collection dedicated to the team and the fans they have inspired.

As The 99ers™ put it on their website: "This collection was a result of a partnership with two respected female-founded brands, State Champs and Foudys."
